As a Church, we want to strive to love Christ with all our hearts. In doing this we realize that we need one another. Although we realize that a church schedule can become too busy and actually detract from a godly life, our regular activities are designed to encourage faithfulness to God and his Word. The Bible exhorts us to not give up meeting together. Our Sunday Morning Worship service is the pinnacle of the gathering of God’s people. But don’t let that be the extent of your involvement with us. Take advantage of the various opportunities listed below.
The purpose of these care groups is to build community within the body of believers around Jesus Christ through an interactive Bible Study and time of prayer. This is a great way to really get to know others in the body of Christ.
Sunday Evening Praise and Prayer
Praise and Prayer meets at the Dunn’s house every Sunday evening at 6:00. We enjoy singing the old hymns and sometimes we sing one of those modern hymns from the 60’s. We are even known to sing Christmas carols in July. We also spend time in prayer, praying for those in our church, our community, and around the world. We fellowship after our time of singing and praying, often while munching on chocolate chip cookies. Children and young people are especially welcome. It is a blessing listening to them sing the hymns and hearing them pray to our Heavenly Father.
Thompson Care Group
Hi, I’m Pastor Mike Thompson and I want to tell you about our small group. We meet in our home on Sunday nights from 5:30-7:00pm. We begin by talking about and singing a hymn. We then take a good amount of time to share our prayer requests and then pray for one another. Then we end with Bible study and discussion. Currently we are in the book of Luke. We encourage people of all ages and seasons of life to come join us!
Beck Care Group
A Bible Study is also being held at the home of Danny and Carla Beck, every Sunday evening at 5:00. They are currently studying the book of Hebrews.
Hall Care Group
The Halls host a care group every other Sunday evening. We fellowship and have pizza then have Bible Study and prayer. We are currently studying through “A Little Book for New Theologians” by Kelly Kapic.
Wednesday Evening Bible Study
Cooper and Hannah Starnes host a Bible Study at their home on Wednesday evenings. Cooper, our Pastoral Intern, leads the Bible Study.
Wednesday Night Youth Group
The Youth Group is intended for those currently in the 6th through the 12th grade. We also encourage parents to attend if they would like, or other adults. This time of games, singing, prayer and Bible Study lasts from 6:00 until around 8:30. Sometimes we go until 8:45pm. If you have any questions please contact Mike Thompson.
Women In the Church
Women in the church are divided into fellowship groups of about 7 ladies per group. Each group meets once a month for BibleStudy, prayer, and to plan for certain activities going on in the church. These fellowship groups meet at different times and places.
Church History Class
Pastor Mike Thompson teaches two semesters of an advanced high school level Church History class, complete with a midterm and final exam as well as a ten page research paper for each semester. Church History I includes the Early Church to the Reformation. Church History II includes the Reformation to the present day. Anyone is welcome to join in this class. Recordings for most of the recent class lectures can be found through the Church App.
At 7:00am to 8:00am some of the men of the church join together to lift up the needs of our families, our church, our community, and the world. Although we sometimes have some good discussions afterwards, we take the majority of the hour to actually pray. Some fathers have even brought their sons. Come and join us as we approach the throne of God and seek him to work mightily in our midst.
4th Saturday Women’s Prayer Time
Every fourth Saturday of the month the women gather together to pray at the church for about an hour. This has become a most special time as we lift up many needs in prayer and praise our God together.
Prayer for the Next Generation
Every other Monday afternoon at 3:15 men and women gather to pray at the church for the many young people in the congregation.
